The uClan Ustym 4K OTT Premium does not have a physical button to enter RECOVERY mode!
To enter the RECOVERY mode: before turning on the power, press and hold any button on the remote control (untill bootpicture will appear), then connect power and wait: after several seconds RECOVERY mode will open.
If your set top box dead, and cannot enter the RECOVERY: in this case, recovery is possible using the HiTool PC program, you need to disassemble the set-top box and connect the PC via the RS232 COM port special cable.
Information about saving data
From the factory, uClan Ustym 4K OTT Premium multimedia IPTV set-top box comes with built-in main Denys_OS software (Define OS).
But the set-top box board has a nstalled eMMC memory (8 GB), so it is possible to install the Enigma2 image with the built-in MULTIBOOT menu, and then install it in Denys_OS as a second system.
Thus, the set-top box will be able to work in two or more systems to choose from. In the future, there will be image files from other Enigma2 developers.
Installing Enigma2 as the main system will erase all your settings, Denys_OS settings, remove the Denys_OS operating system itself from your set-top box!
Kindly recommended connecting a USB flash drive before these operations and saving a memory dump of your set-top box via the menu:
Main menu / Settings / Archiving and restoring / Firmware dump
(wait a long time, about 10 minutes!)
At the end, a file with the extension Ustym-4K-OTT2-vxxxxxxx_all.den will be created on the flash drive - this is the memory dump of your set-top box, (file size is about 600MB)
Then the set-top box will reboot.

Installation Enigma2 (openATV) with Multiboot as main system:
To install Enigma2 with Multiboot (openATV team), you must perform the following operations:
1. Download the fresh Enigma2 file image openatv-6.4-ustym4kottpremium-XXXXXXXX_recovery_emmc.zip from the openATV team link:

2. Unpack the contents of the downloaded archive openatv-6.4-ustym4kottpremium-XXXXXXXX_recovery_emmc.zip to USB flash drive formatted in FAT32.
There should be 4 files in the root directory:
usb_update.bin
apploader.bin
bootargs.bin
imageversion/COLOR]
3. Insert the USB flash disc into the uClan Ustym 4K OTT Premium set-top box disconnected from the power, press and hold any button on the remote control unit (for example, OK button) and connect set-top-box to power adapter, hold the remote control button until the uClan splash screen appears (then you can release the button). After a few seconds of waiting, you will see the Enigma2 MULTIBOOT menu temporarily launched via USB:
4. In this menu need select and confirm second menu - Flash Recovery Image:
The installation process will begin..
This operation will install the openATV system with MULTIBOOT into the permanent memory of the STB. This action also will totally remove Denys_OS from set-top-box memory![/COLOR]
5. At the end of the process, set-top-box enter openATV Enigma2 menu…
Here you need to choose video output mode, menu language, network settings:
If you want to use only Enigma2 OS, then installation finished...

If you want to install Denys_OS for openATV, then proceed to the next steps:
6. Download from the uClan file resource:

For example file: ustym4kottpremium-openatv_xxxxxxxx_mmc.zip
And file to the formatted FAT32 USB flash drive in the root directory. No need unpacking!
7. Turn on set-top-box, and in Main menu select: Standby/Restart:
Then select:
Recovery Mode
Set-top-box will reboot and turn on in the Enigma2 Recovery menu:
8. Then you need to connect a USB flash drive and select USB Multiboot Image Upgrade:
9. On top panel Image Select you will see file ustym4kottpremium-openatv_xxxxxxxx_mmc.zip
On middle panel Slot Select choose EMMC SLOT 2(empty)
On bottom panel press Start Upgrade and confirm installation of image:
Unpacking and installation of the system will begins...
At the end of the installation, the set-top box will return to the installation menu, where you need to return in Main menu, then select Multiboot Selector:
There you can choose Denys_OS (Define 6.4), and also choose which system will be launched by default:
After restarting, the set-top box will open in main menu of Denys_OS:

1. One for using Denys_OS as main, no other OS.

2. Second one, for using Denys_OS as slave, with openATV (similar with models Ustym 4K PRO & Ustym 4K PRO TWIN S2X), installation manual you read in this topic.
